Understanding of the course

  I had a love-hate (mostly love) relationship with IS101.Doing this class was kicking my butt. because when the class started I did not know it was fast-paced course. And also i did not know how to study for it either. Unlike most of my previous classes where had text book read through and call it a day. But IS 101 is different especially when I took the first exam that made me realize the technique i was suing to study for the classit was not working. So I have to quickly regroup and come up with different plan if I want to succeed in class. Even if you I owned a computer and work on it everyday still doesn't mean you automatically know all features and comprehend how to use it unless your ready to go through this class and get better understanding of things. One last advise no matter how hard this course gets never give up. Huge Thank you to my Professor Albert

I Found Theme to My Birthday Party

Learning about theme and templates in PowerPoint was very exciting. Now that I know all about the bells and whistles about PowerPoint. Next time when I have school or work presentation, I am ready to apply what I learned in this class.  

Concatenating In Excel

Beside the IF function I also struggled with concatenating. I thought Excel is going to be very easy since I use lot at work in daily bases but the more, we dive in deeper the more complicated it became for me. But since I was more determined to get it. So, I put in lot of time and effort the better it paid off for me.

Headers and Footers

I found this topic to be very challenging for me. But I am very determined to put some time aside and practice and get comfortable with it. Did anyone have a hard time with a particular topic and if you did, what did you do differently to help you better understand it?

Using Office Collaboration Features

The most challenging chapter for me chapter 3 is using the office collaboration feature. I don't know why but I cannot figure it out my life depend on it. I hope I am not the only one who have hard time with it. yes, I did go back to it and give time and attention to help better understand. I did get better idea what tracking change is, but I have hard time understanding what accepting and rejecting changes are. But I am working on it maybe to slow down and go over with clear mind does not rush throw it.

Desktop Application Facts

The one thing that stood out to me about desktop applications are designed to help you accomplish a specific task on your computer, such as writing a document, browsing the internet, creating a presentation, or playing a game. The other interesting that I learn about a desktop application that I can actually use a shortcut to make my life easier to access when I log into my compute by just simply pin the application that I use the most to taskbar or pin the applications to the start menu. By havening organize like this make things a lot easier for me.

Importance of Email Etiquette

As multilingual speaker, the one thing I struggle with is how to write a proper email to my peers. Because most of time I don't know how to keep things very direct, short and precise. My brain is always working hard and overdrive because I am constantly translating four different languages to come up with one short answer for the questions that has been asked. So sometimes when you read the email that I respond back either it will be too long or complicated to understand. This is why I am working hard to slow down, read and understand before I respond. I know sometimes it might not look like that and I just give sloppy answer but that not it. In actuality, I did spend lot of time writing and rewriting but at time I feel overwhelmed, so I just quickly respond to it and move on.

My First Day of IS101

My first impression walking to class of IS101. I was scared and terrified. I want to turn around and run because I am really bad with using computers. But as the class progressed and I started doing homework and my teacher asked if I need help and I said yes, and he stayed with me after class and help me out. This meant a lot to me because it showed me his character. That way I am going to stick around and finish the course.
